My desire to study law at University of Portsmouth is firmly rooted in my interest in world events and also with helping others. I have a great passion for the subject of Law and thoroughly enjoy the subject; learning about different aspects of Law, how the UK Legal System operates and its impact on society. I am particularly interested in Criminal Law.I feel that studying this will improve my ability, knowledge and broaden my perspective on things. My career goal is to become a professor. I would like to use this international experience to help me contribute to creating more measures against Cyber Crimes.
I have been studying Cyber Crime laws for 4 years. In recent years, Cyber Crime has been gathering the world’s attention. For instance ‘new crimes done with new tools,’ such as computer cracking and software pirating, and ‘old crimes done with new tools,’ such as scams, child pornography, stalking, fraud, and hate crimes which are committed by criminals using technology.
People nowadays have easy access through the internet to view such things, because most people own a smart phone. The amount of Cyber Crime is increasing every day.
And we have learned,”how we should think, “how we should measure”.Focusing on case studies and intensive discussions. Other than that,When I was first year student,The thesis and class score commended these efforts, accepting many professor.
I have worked as a teaching assistant at the university since I was second year student. I am teaching Cyber crime to first year student. Under normal circumstances, Teaching Assistant duties include the printing of teaching materials, distributing handouts and taking attendance, as well as carrying out such duties as supporting the instructor and managing the workshop. In my case, our Professor permitted me for freely customise the lecture content. I explained child pornography, and its relation with Cyber Crime. This lecture was highly regarded within my University.
Outside of school, I volunteer to help disadvantaged children in the world. When I was a third year student, I established a non-profit organisations with my university friends. And we planned a street donation campaign, and charity event. We also contributed clothes, books, toys and school fees to the affected children of The Great East Japan Earthquake in Fukushima and we will continue to hold charity events to contribute to the children.
The reason, why I want to study in the UK is that the UK legal system has some areas, in Cyber Crime, that are more advanced than the Japan system. In UK Cyber crime unit “National Hi-Tech Crime” has been established since 2001. In 2011 The Bank of UK has published the findings of the Waking Shark II exercise, which tested the wholesale banking sector’s response to a sustained and intensive cyber-attack. Furthermore, “National Cyber Crime Unit” was established in 2013. In japan, there is a unit for Cyber crime, but there seems to be no national interest. In fact, Japanese Laws systems for Cyber Crime are still being developed. So, the perception of Cyber Crime in Japan, and in the UK is vastly different.
When i become a graduate school student, I want my research to be focused on Cyber Crime. I especially want to develop an understanding of criminological and criminal justice principles. Then I want to study the criminal justice system in the UK.
I wish to study in the Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Portsmouth. Because this course locates Criminological and criminal justice principal. Those are this is closely related with Cyber Crime. So I feel I cloud research more deeply at the University of Portsmouth. Furthermore, There are so many great professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice and this could help me research. All of these will allow me to develop the skills of analysis, broaden my perspective, reasoning and discussion required to be successful beyond graduate level. The structure of your postgraduate degree and high academic standard would help me to fulfil my ambitions for the future. I feel I cloud greatly benefit from the Criminology and Criminal Justice Course at the University of Portsmouth. and would greatly appreciate your consideration.
